they (poem)

Here' the last one in the trilogy of He, She, and They.

**************************************************

~~~~THEY~~~~
They
were all alone
wandering through life sullen and unseen,
lost in their own sorrows until one day
they
ran into each other
and both felt something shift under their feet
and inside their souls
as
they
dived into each others eyes
and were baptized
in instant forgiveness.
They
both knew that this may be the moment,
the synapse that could change everything
ever known
and give everything
they
had ever hoped for
and
they
were scared witless
by the emotions each emmited and called forth
in the other-
they
were running around back to face to face
trying to find someplace safe
to hide-
trying to find someway to subconciously
mess things up and chase the other one away
just to prove their deluded suspicions right---
that love always leaves.
They
made many mistakes and forgave little...
angry at thier love for the other,
at their need for the other,
at the happiness only the other could give...
as
they
tried to learn how to live-
living out loud and relearning
the fears that should remain unlearned...
resenting each other and the desire that rose
every time
they
drew near to each other---
repelling each other like an ultra polarized magnet,
the seismic forces shifting while they fight
an unbeatable foe,
angels hanging their heads low
while watching these two stumble through
the best thing
they
have ever known
and may never know again.
They
are nothing more than frightened fools
railing against something supernatural and omnipotent,
and
they
will lose everything important to them if
they
don't wake up and just let love rule
this time,
every time,
from now on,
and believe in what they know to be real
instead of childhood fears and fantasies....
each other.
