FIRST ENTRY TODAY

I love this poem...and someday...

it will happen for me.

This morning I woke up

to daylight creeping across the night sky...

to stars blinking sleepily while drifting into dreams...

to the moon quickly kissing her sun awake

before melting into the skyline

to vigilantly watch their snoozing star children sleep---

drowsily I witnessed it all in disorientation

through the pixies' dust that flittered prettily

as they scampered away from the dawn,

before I roused myself fully awake...

shaking off sleep like my tangled sheets

as I stretched my arms to let my body reach and breathe

and the first thing I feel is you...

skin hot and breathing heavy,

lips parted sweetly...

seemingly kissing the billowy pillows,

laying with your arm strewn lazily

against my hip and thigh---

I watched as innocence and happiness

gleamed across your face

as you slightly sighed at beautiful sights

in your dreams...

---And I saw Love---

greater and mightier than I had ever seen it,

spreading quickly and blooming in my veins,

surging from my heart,

fluttering in my stomach,

and singing in my brain...

yes...I knew it was love---

this way that only you can make me feel,

this person that I can be only when with you,

these dreams that you construct with me,

this force that only we can create and share

is all summed up in one puny powerful word-

***LOVE***

This morning I woke up

anxious and jubilant,

rehearsing my promises in my head

and whispering verses under my breath

while I sat and gazed at your beauteous face-

hardly able to wait to get to the church

so I can announce this love for you

before God, family, and friends

and join with you

my love and life undeniably.

Ever yours...

ever mine...

forever...

I love you.
